Ed Sheeran Concert Tomorrow, Metro Police Reminds Spectators To Record Constraints And Solutions

JAKARTA - Musician Ed Sheeran will hold a concert at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), Saturday, March 2. Polda Metro Jaya conveyed several obstacles that will be faced by the audience.

Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman said the obstacle that would be faced was the issue of density due to minimal access.

"The situation of the JIS Stadium is in a place where the path is very minimal, it needs to be conveyed as well," Latif told reporters, Friday, March 1.

This obstacle has occurred at several events held at JIS such as the Band Dewa concert with 80 thousand spectators and Girlgroup from South Korea, TWICE, which was attended by 20 thousand spectators.

"The disbursement (density) from 11 to 4 am is just clear. Yesterday there was Korea again, there were 20 thousand spectators, it took 3 hours to disburse," he said.

"This will definitely be an extraordinary density, especially later maybe we can still arrange the entry. But at the time of dispersal this needs to be anticipated properly," continued Latif.

Therefore, the solution is that people who will watch Ed Sheeran's concert are advised to use public transportation.

Moreover, from the results of coordination with the organizers, a shuttle bus will also be provided from Kemayoran to JIS. It is hoped that the public can take advantage of this facility.

"This is a risk that will be faced, in the sense that they must anticipate it is better to use public transportation. Because there are several routes that transportation to drop off is not close to the entrance," he said.

However, the police will still provide parking spaces for private vehicles.

For motorcycles, they will be directed to park inside the JIS area. Meanwhile, parking bags for cars are located in two locations, namely Kemayoran and Ancol.

"Well, later in Ancol there will be a route, so the committee has coordinated to be operational, which will take the road from Ancol to the bridge to JIS," said Latif.
