Will Take Strict Action On Land Mafia, AHY: Allows Anyone To Fight The Law

JAKARTA - Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) emphasized that the government will act decisively against the land mafia.

"Regarding the land mafia, the Coordinating Minister also said that we are really serious that we will take firm steps, after all, no one should violate the law in our country," he explained to the media crew, Monday, February 26.

According to AHY, many land mafias are targeting small communities. For this reason, he emphasized that the government will be present to side with and defend the people in all land mafia cases.

"If you are in contact and dealing with the people, especially the small people, what is clear is that if there are small people who are persecuted or made difficult by the land mafia, it is certain that the government will be there to defend the small people," he said.

AHY said that he had to look at a land problem in its entirety and not rashly in making decisions because the problem was so complex.

"We also want to really understand the situation because the land situation and land dispute are complex, so we shouldn't be reckless for a long time, we also want to be fast but also have to be well researched," he said.

Furthermore, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that the land mafia case would be handled specifically according to the problem.

"Later we will handle the specific case by case," he said.
