Jokowi's Recipe For Preventing COVID-19: Temulawak, Ginger, Lemongrass, Turmeric, And Empon-Empon
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) admits that he drinks ginger, ginger, lemongrass and turmeric mixed together every day. He often consumes this drink, especially since the spread of the corona virus, aka Covid-19, spread throughout the world.
"There is also such a thing as herbal empon-empon. Be careful, now the price is up to 5 times, 4 times. Red ginger, ginger, turmeric has just increased by 3.5 times. Usually I want to find it easy for me, "said the President as quoted from setkab.go.id.
Jokowi added, drinking this concoction is done three times a day; morning, noon, and night. "Now because there is corona, I drink it morning, noon, night. That is what may have increased because it was drunk not once but three times, ”he said.
Not only that, Jokowi also served the drink for guests who wanted to meet him. "Now my guests, in the morning, afternoon and evening, I also give them the drink. Not tea but I replace it with ginger, ginger, lemongrass, turmeric mixed together. Yes, "he said.
According to Jokowi, these spices are mainly in Maluku and North Maluku areas, so it is important to revive them.
"Why not over there seriously bring his name back to life, in large quantities of spices. There are nutmeg, cinnamon and others, "he said while reminding that this work had not yet been focused on.
For this reason, the President invited to create these clusters and the Indonesian Farmers Association (HKTI) was able to compile this management. He stated this on the sidelines of his remarks at the 2020 The 2nd Asian Agriculture and Food Forum (ASAAF), as well as the HKTI National Conference.
"Which cluster deals with tropical fruits, which cluster deals with spices, which cluster deals with herbal empon-empon. So that our agriculture can really support us, "explained Jokowi.
Regarding technology matters, the President said that how to check if the fertilizer plant is sufficient or not, check whether the water is sufficient or not, there are all these applications.
"Don't let the unproductive vacant land, especially outside Java, really remain idle and not used," he added.
