Earthquake M 5.8 Southwest Of Banten, Shocks Felt As Far As Jakarta

JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 occurred in the southwest of Lebak District, Bayah Regency, Banten Province at 20.07 WIB.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) noted that the earthquake was located at 7.57 south latitude, 105.94 east longitude.

The earthquake was 79 kilometers from southwest of Bayah with a depth of 10 kilometers.

"This information prioritizes speed, so that the data processing results are not stable and can change with complete data," wrote the information on the X account @infoBMKG, Sunday, February 25.

When the earthquake occurred, the tremors were felt in various areas, including DKI Jakarta Province.
