Guarding Voice Counting, PSI Finds Input Errors At TPS 2024 Election
PSI DPP chairman Cheryl Tanzil said the deployment of effective party administrators, candidates, and cadres to oversee the vote count process at every level and report all findings on the ground.
"If my friends from the board, candidates, and cadres do not oversee and supervise, it is impossible for these findings to reach the DPP," said Cheryl in a written statement, Sunday, February 25, which was confiscated by Antara.
Some of the findings by PSI included vote recording errors and the findings were obtained as a result of supervision carried out by PSI administrators, candidates, and cadres.
I myself have gone down to various sub-districts and found input errors. For example at a polling station in North Jakarta. Batang Lidi recorded 35 but in the number column it was written 25. There was a reduction of 10 votes. That is only one PSI candidate and one TPS. Imagine if multiplied by 12 thousand polling stations in one electoral district," he said.
PSI also instructed the findings of the error to be corrected immediately and the results must also be agreed upon by all witnesses of other parties at various levels.
According to him, guarding votes is the constitutional right of all election participants. Every vote is the people's mandate that should not be wasted.
"PSI uses this right to ensure that not a single person's voice is lost. PSI itself remains optimistic that it can pass the 4 percent parliamentary threshold and qualify for Senayan," said Cheryl.
Cheryl assessed that the KPU has worked optimally and professionally, although the potential for human error will still exist, but can be minimized with the support of all parties.
"We believe the KPU and all election organizers have worked very well and dedicated. But the name is human, it is very possible to be tired or careless," he said.
