7 TPS In Kaltara Holds Re-voting

TANJUNG SELOR - A total of 7 polling stations (TPS) in North Kalimantan (Kaltara) will hold a re-voting (PSU).

Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Kaltara Province, Suryanata Al-Islami explained, the 7 polling stations are located in Nunukan Regency (7 polling stations) and Tarakan City 1 polling station.

"The PSU was held due to discrepancies in the results after the ballot calculation process at the polling station on February 14," said Suryanata, Thursday, February 22.

The PSU was held on the basis of recommendations from Bawaslu City Regency.

"KPU friends in the district get PSU recommendations, such as the Tarakan City KPU getting recommendations from Bawaslu that 3 TPS will be PSU," said Suryanata.

Then, 3 polling stations recommended by PSU Bawaslu only 1 polling station met the requirements for the implementation of the PSU.

"The PSU is TPS 57 in Karang Anyar Village, Tarakan which was held today (Thursday, 22/2/2024). The Tarakan KPU has also implemented the plenary decision of the PSU for everything," he explained.

In Nunukan Regency, continued Suryanata, 6 polling stations were recommended by Bawaslu for PSU but only did certain voting.

"These 6 polling stations will carry out presidential and vice presidential elections, 3 polling stations from these 6 polling stations will be held by the DPR election.

"Then there are 2 polling stations that re-calculate the election of the provincial DPRD and the city district DPRD," he said.

Suryanata said that the other 3 regency KPUs, namely the Bulungan KPU, Tana Tidung and Malinau, have yet to receive recommendations for the PSU.

"This PSU is in accordance with the laws and regulations carried out no later than 10 days after voting day. A ballot has been prepared. Hopefully, the PSU in Tarakan City and Nunukan will be sufficient," he concluded.
