Replace John Anis, Sunaryanto Occupies The Position Of President Director Of Pertamina Hulu Indonesia
PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) inaugurated Sunaryanto as President Director of PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) on February 20, 2024.
Sunaryanto replaces John Anis who has led the PHI from 22 May 2023 to 20 February 2024.
Anto, Sunaryanto's nickname, is not a foreign figure in the PHI-Regional 3 Kalimantan environment. Prior to joining Pertamina, for 26 years Sunaryanto had experienced work at home and abroad with Total EP Indonesie (Total Energies SA), a French company that operates the Mahakam Block which is currently managed by one of the PHI subsidiaries, namely PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM).
While in Total EP Indonesia, Anto served as VP of Well Construction and Intervention, and after being managed, he served as Executive VP of East Kalimantan Ops PHM from 2018 to 2020.
Before being appointed as President Director of PHI, Sunaryanto served as Vice President of Drilling & Well Intervention PHE since 2021.

Sunaryanto also expressed his appreciation to John Anis who has led and laid a good foundation, especially regarding the importance of safety aspects as a basis for carrying out all activities upstream of the Company's oil and gas.

Sunaryanto emphasized his commitment to continue the steps taken by John Anis previously to ensure the sustainability of PHI's oil and gas production and its subsidiaries as well as their affiliates in Regional 3 Kalimantan in supporting Pertamina's energy transition policy and achieving a national production target of 1 million barrels of oil and 12 billion standard cubic feet of gas by 2030.
According to him, PHI will continue to invest in exploration and exploitation drilling to find new resources, increase reserves, and maintain sustainability in the production of mature field oil and gas. Sunaryanto believes that the government, society, and all other stakeholders will continue to provide the support needed by the Company.
"At PHI, we apply the principles of Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) in every operation activity and Company business to produce sustainable energy for Indonesia and support the achievement of the National Sustainable Development Goals," he concluded.
