5 People Suspected Of Supplying Senpi And Ammunition To The Makassar Network KKB Arrested
JAYAPURA - A joint TNI-Polri team succeeded in dismantling the Makassar network that was suspected of supplying firearms and ammunition to the armed criminal group (KKB) in Nabire.
Five people were arrested, but members are still exploring to reveal the network.
The five people who were arrested, namely RWH, DJ alias Joni, RN, MA and R were arrested Tuesday, February 21.
Deputy Police Chief of Papua Brig. Gen. Matheus Fakhiri explained that of the five people who were arrested, one of them was a former member of the Indonesian Army, namely DJ alias Joni.
The group was secured along with 42 ammunition of various caliber, two firearms, airsoft gun and money allegedly used to buy firearms and were arrested in various locations around Nabire.
Various pieces of evidence in the form of airsoft guns and ammunition were obtained by the suspects from Makassar.
The disclosure was made after a joint TNI-Polri team worked together to investigate the alleged supplier of firearms and ammunition to the KKB. But the sale of firearms and ammunition is still being investigated.
Meanwhile, Kapolres Nabire AKBP Kariawan Barus said that MS, who was arrested for allegedly being a supplier of firearms to the KKB, was transferred to the Nabire District Attorney.
"The case has been transferred to the Nabire Kejari," said Barus as quoted by Antara, Friday, February 26.
MS got a firearm and took it from Sanger and had sold one shoot in Manokwari. From MS's hand, four allegedly from the Philippines were secured.
