Deputy Governor Riza Patria Asks PSI Not To Bring Other Interests About Interpretation: If Anies Is Good, Should Support
JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, spoke up after the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD prepared to propose the right of interpretation to the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan.
According to him, the interpretation is legitimate because of the rights of each faction of the DKI DPRD. However, PSI must see the fact that flood management in Jakarta has been maximized.
"Alhamdulillah, Jakarta is the only province that recedes (the flood) within a day," said Deputy Governor Riza at the City Hall of DKI, Central Jakarta, Friday, February 26.
PSI issued the right to request information to Anies regarding the causes of the Jakarta flood problems some time ago. If it happens, Anies must explain the causes of the flood problem.
Deputy Governor Riza added that PSI should be fair as an opposition. If Anies runs flood management properly, he must be supported. On the other hand, even though it is a supporting party, the wrong policies of the DKI Provincial Government must be criticized.
"There should be no other interests, even if we are in a different position. For example, the opposition, pro-government, we still have to see the government's policies, we see,"
"If (Anies' policy) has a good direction, we must provide support, even if we are in an oppositional position. On the other hand, even if we are in a pro-government position, if the policies are lacking, it is our duty as a party supporting the government to provide input and correction," said Deputy Governor Riza.
Deputy Governor Riza added that Jakarta's target to recede from flooding after 6 hours has been well realized. Including an elite area in South Jakarta, Kemang, which calculates floods to recede in less than 6 hours.
"Let us deal with this flood problem wisely. We support DKI Jakarta so that in the future it can reduce floods again," he said.
Deputy Chairman of the PSI DPRD DKI Fraction Justin Untayana said his party had submitted the right to interpellation regarding the Jakarta floods to the DPRD leadership. If it happens, Anies must explain the causes of the flooding problem that occurred.
"We take this interpellation as the last constitutional way. This is PSI's moral and political responsibility towards the citizens of Jakarta, especially those who were harmed by the floods due to the failure and lack of seriousness of Governor Anies in managing flood management, ”said Justin.
The condition is that interpellation is proposed by at least 15 DPRD members and more than one faction. Justin admitted that he had "lobbied" other party factions to plan an interpellation meeting.
Justin is confident that a number of factions they spoke to also agree with the agenda. "We are sure other parties also admit that the governor's handling of floods is still not optimal," said Justin.
"For parties that have similar views, we hope this can be a strong joint movement in the DPRD. We ask for a clear explanation from the Governor. We have launched this right of interpellation for the sake of humanity and social justice for all Jakarta citizens," he continued.
