Update On COVID-19 As Of 26 February: 8.232 New Cases, 1.322.866 Acumulated Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 63.827 specimens were examined with the results that there were 8.232 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1.322.866 people and as many as 158.408 active cases", quoted from the Ministry of Health, Friday, February 26.

Today's cases have increased to 7.261 cases so that a total of 1.128.672 people have recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 268 people and a total of 35.786 people.

The province with the newest cases is in West Java with 2.314 cases and a total of 209.566 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 1.661 new cases with a total of 335.900 cases. Central Java has 653 new cases and a total of 209.566 cases. Then, East Java has 541 new cases and a total of 128.690 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1.785 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an increase of 1.119 recovered cases, West Java with an increase of 868 recovered cases, and East Kalimantan with an increase of 535 recovered cases.

No province reported having zero new cases as of today. The province that reported the fewest new cases was North Maluku with 6 cases.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 10.708.262. In detail, a total of 10.556.345 specimens were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 151.917 using a molecular rapid test (TCM).

"The cumulative positive results per number of people examined or a positivity rate of 18.5 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 75.822 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Currently, there are 1.583.581 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 865.870 vaccines in the second dose. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 181.554.465 people.
