Opening Face-to-Face Teaching And Learning Process, The House Of Representatives Asks For Vaccinations For Educators To Finish Quickly
JAKARTA - Commission X House of Representatives (DPR) encourages that vaccinations for teaching staff can be completed immediately. Given that the government has targeted face-to-face teaching and learning activities (KBM) to reopen in July.
Chairman of Commission X DPR RI, Syaiful Huda, said that distance learning as an alternative learning pattern during the COVID-19 pandemic had many complaints from students, teachers, and parents. So that face-to-face learning in schools needs to be reactivated.
"President Jokowi's target to open schools next July must be supported. Thus, the threat of loss learning for children can be minimized”, said Syaiful, Friday, February 26.
The PKB politician admitted face-to-face learning was still the best method in the Indonesian education system. Because, there are many obstacles encountered during online distance learning (PJJ). One of them is the difficulty in distributing technology infrastructure evenly which makes teaching and learning activities less effective.
Therefore, according to Syaiful, the vaccination process for five million educators should be appreciated as the first step to ensure the safety of the face-to-face teaching and learning process in schools.
By vaccinating teachers, he continued, educators will have immunity to minimize transmission of COVID-19 to their students.
"So now it is just a matter of regulating the health protocols for students so that the teaching and learning process can take place safely", said the legislator for the electoral district of West Java VII.
After the vaccination is complete, Syaiful hopes that the school can regulate teaching and learning activities in a rotation system to anticipate crowds.
"If necessary, the initial stage of school does not apply full lesson hours, but gradually by paying attention to the situation and conditions around", said Syaiful.
