Not Yet A Year In Office, Head Of DKI Bapenda Resigns, DPRD: He's Not Confident

JAKARTA - Head of DKI Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) Mohammad Tsani Annafari resigned from his position. In fact, Tsani has not yet been serving as head of the agency that manages local taxes and revenues in Jakarta for less than a year.

This was confirmed by the Chairman of Commission A for Government Affairs of the DKI DPRD, Mujiyono. Mujiyono received reports that Tsani resigned because he was not confident in managing the regional revenue target.

"During the Budget Committee meeting related to local revenue, we asked him to have a sense of optimism and measurement. But several meetings, he was a little bit forced if it was related to revenue targets," Mujiyono told VOI, Friday, February 26.

Mujiyono also said that Tsani was one of the DKI officials who received a performance evaluation record from the DKI DPRD.

"He is also included in the evaluation," said the member of the Democratic Faction of the DKI DPRD.

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of DKI, Ahmad Riza Patria, admitted that he appreciated Tsani's decision to resign from his position. He said, it is the right of everyone.

"I think it is the right of everyone if they want to resign and in government, at the central, regional, BUMD, BUMN, even the private sector. Resignation is the right of everyone," said Riza separately.

Previously, the Governor of DKI Jakarta appointed Tsani as Head of Bapenda DKI on Friday, August 24, 2020. With the decision to resign, Tsani only served for six months.

Previously, Tsani had also resigned from his position as Advisor to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on December 1, 2019. After that, he became a functional officer at the Ministry of Finance, before finally participating in the auction for the position of Head of DKI Bapenda.
