Gibran Waits For Legal Decree Related To Vastenburg Fort Confiscated By The Prosecutor's Office For Jiwasraya Corruption
Surakarta City Government is still waiting for legal decisions regarding the use of Vastenburg Fort in Surakarta City, Central Java.
"Fort Vastenburg, we consulted with Pak Kajari (Head of the District Attorney's Office) yesterday, this is still in progress," said Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 21.
He said the legal process was one of the issues of assets.
"Let's process it first, yes, the legal process," he added.
Asked about the extent of the legal process that is currently still ongoing, Gibran has not been able to confirm.
However, his party has submitted a letter regarding grants.
"That can later be asked to the prosecutor's office, yes, what is clear is that we have submitted letters related to grants and others. We are following the existing legal process, yes," he said.
It also does not target the completion of the legal process, including when to use Sriwedari or Vastenburg Fort for community activities.
"There is no target when," he said.

Previously, Vastenburg Fort was confiscated by the Central Jakarta Kejari in connection with the alleged corruption case in financial management and investment funds at PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero).
As a result of this incident, the Surakarta City Government hopes that Vastenburg Fort can be donated to local governments so that they can be used for community activities.
Meanwhile, Taman Sriwedari became a dispute between the Surakarta City Government and the heirs of Raden Mas Tumenggung Wirdjodiningrat.
However, in December 2023, a court decision numbered 10 / PEN.PDT / EKS / 2015 / PN.Skt juncto Number 31 / Pdt.G / 2011 / PN.Ska juncto Number 87 / Pdt / 2012 / PT.Smg juncto Number 3249 K / Pdt / 2012 related to the cancellation of confiscation.
The Regional Secretary of Surakarta City, Budi Murtono, said that the use of Sriwedari's land has become the full right of the Surakarta City Government, so that it will soon be used for the public interest.
