President Jokowi Is Affected By 3 Periods Of Issues, Observer: Wild Issues Plunge Into Jokowi
JAKARTA - The issue of Jokowi for the 3rd term has returned to heat on social media. In fact, the vice-presidential candidate is recommended if Jokowi can no longer run for president.
Responding to the proposal, political observer Adi Prayitno said the proposal was just a wild issue. Given, Jokowi himself does not agree with three terms of the presidency.
"It is not clear who raised the issue of the 3 terms presidential term. Suddenly it becomes a wild issue. Jokowi does not agree with the issue of three presidential terms", Adi told VOI, Friday, February 26.
In fact, he said, Jokowi said that the issue of three periods was detrimental to him. "Jokowi has repeatedly told the public that this issue has plunged him", said the Executive Director of Indonesian Political Parameters
For information, the rules regarding the term of office of the president and vice president have been regulated in Article 7 of the 1945 Constitution. Referring to this article, both the president and the vice president have a maximum of two terms or 10 years.
However, recently, a suggestion has emerged that the 1945 Constitution be amended so that Jokowi can return to run as a presidential candidate in 2024 for a third term.
It is considered necessary to consider the change in the maximum limit for the president's term of office from a maximum of two to three terms because there is no right figure to lead Indonesia apart from Jokowi.
