Police Arrest 2 Youth Traffickers 2 Kg Of Marijuana In South Halmahera

TERNATE - Personnel from the Resort Police (Polres) of South Halmahera Regency, North Maluku (Malut), arrested two youths who circulated 2.01 kilograms of class I narcotics (Kg).

South Halmahera Police Chief AKBP Aditya Kurniawan explained that the perpetrators of drug abuse who were arrested had the initials II and IM.

The two suspects are suspected of having committed a criminal act of narcotics abuse of class I type marijuana as referred to in Article 111 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) or Article 114 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

"The two suspects and evidence were secured by officers from the Narcotics Unit of the Halsel Police on February 7, 2024 at around 02.00 WITA in the morning at DI's house, precisely at the West City Village organization complex, Bacan District, South Halmahera Regency," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 19.

The police found three packages containing 2.01 kg of marijuana, 1 backpack in which there were two L-shaped pipettes, small scissors, a shovel-shaped pipette, a plastic straw combined with a syringe.

Meanwhile, in a separate place, the Ternate Police Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) Opsnal Team managed to apprehend one suspect of narcotics abuse of class one type of methamphetamine within the Ternate City area in early 2024.

Head of Public Relations Iptu Wahyuddi said the suspect with the initials IP alias Jankis, male (35 years old), was arrested in Soa Sie Village, Ternate City on Monday (15/1/2024) at around 18.00 WIT.

The arrest of the suspect in the case of drug abuse of methamphetamine was carried out after the Ternate Police Narcotics Sat Opsnal Team under the leadership of Head of Brigadier 2 Irfan Zainal received a report from the public.

"Yes, that's right, IP alias Jankis was secured after the team members received reports from the public," he said.

In addition to the suspect, the team also secured evidence of a small clear plastic sachet suspected of being methamphetamine with a gross weight of 0.32 grams.
