COVID-19 Makes IHSG Close To Below 5,000 Thursday Morning
JAKARTA - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) opened lower and almost fell below 5,000. The JCI on Thursday, March 12 opened to sink 2.20 percent or 113.14 points at the level of 5,040.96 in this morning's trade.
Starting today's trading, there are 29 stocks rising, 163 stocks weakening, and 70 stocks stagnant. Trade transactions reached Rp. 189.09 billion out of 172.9 million shares traded.
"This decline is still influenced by the high uncertainty in the global economy due to the COVID-19 outbreak which has been declared a global pandemic," said Artha Sekuritas Indonesia analyst Dennies Christoper Jordan in his written research.
This morning, the stocks that entered the top gainers, namely PT PMajapahit Inti Corpora Tbk (AKSI) rose IDR36 or 13 percent to IDR294, shares of PT Sierad Produce Tbk (SIPD) rose IDR95 or 10 percent to IDR1,000, and shares of PT Sarana Mediatama Metropolitan Tbk (SAME) increased by IDR 10 or 7 percent to IDR 149.
As for the stocks that entered the top losers, among others, shares of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) fell IDR 195 or 13 percent to IDR 1,205, shares of PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) fell IDR 110 or 12 percent to IDR 790 and shares of PT Pakuwon Jati Tbk (PWON) fell IDR 50 or 11 percent to IDR 400.
