Prosecutors Appeal Free Sentence Of Mataram NTB Candidates For Rice With Stickers
The prosecutor filed an appeal against the defendant Ni Komang Puspita's acquittal in the alleged violation of the Election Law.
The defendant Ni Komang Puspita in this case was charged with distributing rice and photo stickers of his candidacy as a legislative candidate for the Mataram electoral district (dapil), NTB in the 2024 election.
"Yes, the prosecutor filed an appeal. The appeal statement was also delivered in conjunction with the memorandum of appeal," said Mataram District Court Spokesperson, Kelik Trimargo in Mataram, NTB, Monday, February 19, as quoted by Antara.
Following up on the submission, he confirmed that his party had forwarded information to the comparative parties, in this case the defendant Ni Komang Puspita.
"So, for the next time we from the Mataram District Court will send the election case file to the NTB High Court," he said.

Separately, for the petitum which is the complete memory of the appeal, the spokesperson for the NTB Prosecutor's Office, Efrien Saputera, suggested seeing it from the trial.
The Mataram District Court acquitted Ni Komang Puspita on Tuesday, February 13. The Mataram District Court judges found the defendant not guilty of committing a crime as in the sole indictment of the public prosecutor.
The panel of judges led by Lalu Moh. Sandi Iramaya stated this by asking the prosecutor to restore the rights of the defendant in his ability, position, and dignity as a citizen.
The prosecutor in the previous indictment requested that the panel of judges impose a prison sentence on Ni Komang Puspita with a prison sentence of 5 months.9999
The prosecutor also asked the judge to impose a fine of Rp. 5 million, subsidiary to 4 months in prison.
The prosecutor conveyed these demands by stating that Ni Komang Puspita's actions in distributing rice and stickers of his candidacy photo in the 2024 Election contestation had been proven to have violated Article 523 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 280 paragraph (1) of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections.
