Mahfud MD Answers This About Surya Paloh And President Jokowi's Meeting At The Palace
JAKARTA - Vice Presidential Candidate number three, Mahfud MD, did not talk much about the meeting between the Chairman of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta on Sunday, February 18 evening. Mahfud admitted that he did not know much about the activity.
"I don't know," Mahfud told reporters at the High End Building, Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, Monday, February 19.
The former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) assessed that he did not have the capacity to answer. He said, it would be better if the explanation of the closed meeting was conveyed by Surya Paloh or Jokowi.
"Time to ask me for a response. Ask for a response from Pak Surya Paloh, please," he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of TPN Ganjar-Mahfud, Benny Rhamdani also agreed that outsiders would not know about the results of the meeting. However, he hopes that nothing serious will be discussed.

He is also not sure that Surya Paloh agreed to join the government coalition in the future. Moreover, the boss of the media company is considered an idealistic figure.
"So the meeting does not need to be suspected and we are prejudiced and we do not doubt Pak Surya Paloh's idealism," said Benny, who is a Hanura Party politician.
As previously reported, Surya Paloh visited the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta to meet President Jokowi. The General Treasurer of the NasDem Party, Ahmad Sahroni, said that the general chairman was summoned because he was summoned.
However, the Presidential Special Staff Coordinator, Ari Dwipayana, denied and said the meeting was Surya Paloh's request. However, the statement was refuted by Hermawi Taslim who ensured that the meeting was limited to fulfilling the invitation.
