Achmad Albar Surprised By The Collection Presented At The 50-Year God Bless Retrospective Exhibition

JAKARTA - The 50-year God Bless Retrospective Exhibition which was held at the A Building of the National Gallery of Indonesia, Central Jakarta and officially opened today, Friday, February 16, presents many historical collections.

Some of the collections on display are a variety of works in cassette format, compact discs and disks. In addition, there are recording equipment, stage equipment, and costumes that God Bless personnel have worn.

Achmad Albar admitted that he was surprised by the collections displayed, both from the personal collection of God Bless personnel, as well as the documentation collected by the curator team.

"Surprise, there are many things I didn't expect and many I like (from the collection on display). Hopefully it can be even more complete," said Achmad Albar during a press conference for the opening of the exhibition.

Fajar Satritama also admitted that he was surprised. The God Bless drummer did not expect that Ian Antono's 'classical' mixer to be presented at this exhibition.

"What might be a bit of a surprise for me, Mas Ian's mixer at Studio Rumah Kita can be carried here. Reportedly, ten people need to transport the mixer," said Fajar.

It's a mixed legend. Last time we recorded the album Cermin Seven using the mixer. The old mixer but the sound is still cool, and today it's on display here. That's cool," he continued.

Meanwhile, rudian Rangga selaku Exhibition Director menyebut beberapa koleksi yang sulit untuk didapat tim, yaitu foto dokumenasi God Bless dengan personel awal.

The most difficult for me is when looking for a photo of God Bless in the early era when Om Ludwig Lemans was there, and also a photo when he was late Soman Lubis. It is a very rare item," said Rangga.

"But if my friends come later on March 1, there are special things to be presented. Must come so they know who will talk there, I don't want to talk here first," he said.

For information, the God Bless 50 Years Retrospective Exhibition will last until March 1.
