PDIP Politician Deddy Sitorus Is Optimistic To Return To Senayan, While Reaching 53 Thousand More Votes
TANJUNG SELOR - Caleg Deddy Sitorus, who is currently a member of Commission VI of the DPR, is optimistic that he will walk to Senayan for the period 2024-2029.
"I am still optimistic that I can maintain my seat in Senayan. At least in second place, even during the massive money politics (money politics) election, certain candidates were held," he said, Friday, February 16.
From the recapitulation of votes in the PDI-P's internal count room, Deddy collected around 53 thousand votes. According to him, the voters are categorized as smart voters who vote not based on money.
"I have been involved in many elections or regional elections in Indonesia. According to my assessment, the current election is the most brutal. Billions of money have been spent to buy people's votes. Unfortunately, voters' behavior is like three money with the legislative candidates. They only want to vote after being given money," said Deddy.
What makes him sad the most is that the phenomenon of money politics has spread to villages. Based on his experience in the 2019 Election, the majority of voters in rural areas are categorized as rational voters.
"The main material of my campaign in the villages has always rejected money politics. I want them to choose a legislative candidate based on track records. Using conscience, not based on the rupiah given. But the opposite happened. Residents intervened, and were even forced to choose certain candidates in exchange for money," he explained.
In the midst of the massive political property of money, continued Deddy Sitorus, there are still voters who are dignified or unsteady when lured by the envelope.
"I believe those people chose me, they went to the TPS and chose because they saw that I had worked hard for Kaltara," he said.
Regarding the vote counting process at the sub-district level, Deddy Sitorus ordered all PDI-P cadres to guard him. He did not want fraud to happen again, it was processed recapitulation.
"Be aware of all unused ballot papers. The amount is quite significant. I don't want our democracy to be damaged just because of my power ambition. Remember, if there is fraud in our recapitulation, we will not remain silent," he concluded.
