Unfortunately, A 7-year-old Boy In Central Kalimantan Died When He Fell In A Drainage When His Mother Was Chasing Jambret

PALANGKA RAYA - The unfortunate fate of a 7-year-old boy on Jalan Ramin II, Pahandut Village, Pahandut District, Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan (Kalteng).

When the mother rode on a ride to chase the robbers, this boy fell into a large drainage and died instantly.

Kapolresta Palangka Raya Kombes Dwi Tunggal Jaladri said the incident occurred when the mother with the initials PR, a resident of Jalan RTA Milono Gang Sampit, was the victim of mugging. The perpetrator took away his cell phone.

"The incident took place on Thursday, February 25 at around 13.50 WIB and there were two victims. The mother was injured and her child died," Jaladri said in Palangka Raya as quoted by Antara, Friday, February 27.

The victim and her child were indeed passing through the location of the case. Suddenly, an unknown man came and took away PR's cell phone.

Due to this incident, the victim then spurred the gas on his motorbike and chased the perpetrator. Unfortunately, when he was at Jalan Ramin II at the intersection of Jalan Nyai Undang, PR suddenly got out of control, causing him and his child to fall into the drainage.

"The two victims who had the accident were immediately rushed to RSUD Dr. Doris Sylvanus Palangka Raya. The mother, namely PR, is still undergoing treatment in the hospital because she suffered a number of injuries due to hard collisions at the scene," he said.

The local police questioned a number of residents who were suspected of knowing exactly what happened to the child and mother.

"Based on the testimony of eyewitnesses at the scene of the incident, the victim's cell phone was successfully seized by the perpetrator. At that time the victim and the perpetrator had a chase that resulted in the victim falling into the drainage," said Jaladri.

He added that the 1995 Police Academy graduate, his party had also contacted the husband and family of the victim. The police are still identifying the perpetrators, and are also continuing to carry out investigations so that the case can be revealed.

"Hopefully this case will be revealed soon and we can secure the perpetrator to be accountable for his actions," said the number one person in the Palangka Raya Police.

Meanwhile, Suparji, a resident who lives in the vicinity of the incident, said he had heard a woman screaming from Jalan Ramin II. At that time the motor that the mother and child was riding got into the drain.

Seeing this incident, residents helped and evacuated both of them to the hospital. When asked to contact the family, it turned out that the victim's cellphone was not there because it was taken by the perpetrator.

"We want to borrow the victim's cellphone to call his family, the victim said that his cellphone was taken by a man who had fled. We saw that his son was indeed injured as a result of the fall," said Suparji.
