KPU: Only 7% of Polling Stations in Indonesia Have Uploaded Vote Counting Results
JAKARTA - General Chairperson of the General Election Commission (KPU), Hasyim Asy'ari, conveyed several points regarding updates to the vote count and responded to several technical problems that occurred during the voting.
"According to data as of 19.00 tonight there have been 59,836 TPS (voting places) that have uploaded or around 7.27%. "Of course, even though the voting activities have finished, there are still vote counting activities and the recapitulation will continue," he said.
The vote counting process in the 2024 Election, he explained, uses a recapitulation system called the Electronic Vote Recapitulation Process System (Sirekap).

This system uses data and images from form documents that are photographed and uploaded by the voting organizing group (KPPS), to then be recapitulated in stages from the sub-district, city/district, provincial, and central levels.
"We are still trying to protect ourselves, work professionally, maintain integrity, and try to work as carefully as possible so that we can remain accountable and the vote counting process is transparent," he added.
