Asabri Corruption Case, Attorney General's Office Checks 8 Witnesses. Some Of Them Are Related To The Suspect Sonny Widjaja

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) is examining eight witnesses regarding the alleged corruption in the management of finance and investment funds by PT Asabri. One of the witnesses, with the initials RN, is suspected of being connected to Lieutenant General (ret) Sonny Widjaja, who is a suspect.

"RN is the party affiliated with the suspect SW," said Head of the Attorney General's Office of Legal Information, Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak in his statement, Thursday, February 25.

Meanwhile, the other seven suspects were the director of a securities company, among others, BS (Director of Waterfront Securities Indonesia), ZB (Director of Trust Securities), JA (Director of BNI Securities), LS (Director of Yuanta Sekuritas Indonesia), ES (President Commissioner of PT Bumi Sanurhasta Mitra Tbk or former Commissioner of PT Minna Padi Investama Sekuritas), YTF (Director of UOB Kay Hian Securities), and AP (Director of Valbury Sekuritas Indonesia).

"The witness examination is to look for legal facts and gather evidence about the criminal act of corruption that occurred at PT Asabri," he said.

For information, Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Sonny Widjaja is the President Director of PT Asabri for the 2011-2016 period, Lt. Gen. Purn Sonny Widjaja.

In addition, in this case the AGO has named nine suspects. Two former Directors of PT Asabri who were named as suspects, namely Major General (ret) Adam Rachmat Damiri and Sonny Widjaja.

Meanwhile, for the other six suspects, namely BE as the former finance director of PT. Asabri; HS as Director of PT. Asabri; IWS as the Head of Investment Division of PT. Asabri; LP Managing Director of PT. Prima Network; BT and HH.

Finally, the AGO also named Jimmy Sutopo (JS) as the Director of PT Jakarta Issuer Investor Relations as a suspect.

Jimmy Sutopo is a private party involved in criminal acts of corruption. Determination of the suspect against him was based on order number print 09 / f.2 / fd.2 / 02/2021 dated February 15, 2021.
