Jokowi And Iriana Use Their Right To Choose, Invite People To Be Happy At The Democratic Party

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) hopes that the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) can be followed by all Indonesian people happily.

After exercising his voting rights at polling stations (TPS) 10 Gambir, Central Jakarta, Wednesday morning, President Jokowi expressed his hope that the holding of the election this time would run according to the principles of direct, public, free, secret, honest and fair (Jurdil).

"Yes, this is a democratic party. We hope that this will truly become a people's party that takes place in a jurdil, luber, and is followed by all Indonesian people with joy," said Jokowi who held the voting with First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo.

When asked if he was sure that the 2024 General Election could be completed in one round, President Jokowi asked the public to wait for the whole process to run.

"We'll wait together," he said.

After voting, Jokowi said he would immediately return to the palace to monitor the quick count of the election.

However, he did not mention whether to return to the Jakarta Presidential Palace or the Bogor Palace.

"Maybe in Jakarta, maybe in Bogor," he said.

President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo arrived at TPS 10 Gambir, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday morning at around 08.48 to vote.

The President was seen wearing a white shirt and black pants, while Mrs. Iriana wore a green sage brocade with matching subordinates.

At the TPS, President Jokowi is registered as a permanent voter list with number 50, while Mrs. Iriana is registered with number 47.

After filling in the attendance list, Jokowi and Iriana received a ballot letter from the Head of the Voting Organizing Group (KPPS) of TPS 10 Gambir Hamdi Basjar, before heading to the ballot booth to vote.

The two of them each received four election ballots, namely gray for the presidential and vice presidential election letters, yellow for the DPR RI ballots, red for the DPD RI members' ballots, and blue for provincial DPRD ballots.

President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana seemed to open all the ballots they received in front of the KPPS and witnesses to ensure that no ballots were damaged.

After voting, President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana included letters in each ballot box, before spraying their fingers into election ink as evidence that they had channeled voting rights in the 2024 General Election.

President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana briefly gave a brief statement to reporters who were present covering their activities, before leaving the polling station at 09.02 WIB.
