The Solution For The 2024 Election TPS To Be Submerged By Floods Will Be Explained By The KPU Tomorrow
The General Elections Commission (KPU) said that the solution to the voting process for the polling area (TPS) affected by the flood will be delivered tomorrow, Tuesday, February 12.
"Tuesday (February 13), we will make a decision on the status of voting in villages that are still flooded in Demak Regency, especially in Karanganyar District, we will decide tomorrow," said Chairman of the Indonesian KPU Hasyim Asy'ari at the KPU Office, Jakarta, Monday, February 12, confiscated by Antara.
It is known that several areas were affected by the flood disaster ahead of voting day. One of them, Demak Regency, Central Java, has been hit by floods since Monday 5 Faberuari.
Hasyim admitted that he still could not make a decision until now. However, the KPU continues to monitor developments there.
"Until today, there have been reports from the Demak KPU and also the Central Java province to us, how many villages are still inundated," he explained.
He also hopes that the floods in Central Java can recede during the vote, Wednesday, February 14.

Meanwhile, Member of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) Lolly Suhenty admitted that he had coordinated with the KPU regarding the steps to be taken so that the 2024 General Election could continue to run well.
"Regarding the disaster, several scenarios have been discussed by KPU friends. One of them is of course the supervision of Bawaslu, for example in the case in Demak, friends have made various efforts to ensure that the election can run smoothly," said Lolly in Jakarta, Sunday 11 February.
He explained that if the relocation of TPS cannot be carried out, there will be a special follow-up option for locations affected by the disaster.
"But it is a difficult situation, so after-election is one option, apart from relocation," he said.
Regarding the option for the follow-up election, Lolly said, Bawaslu and the KPU could not determine the exact date. However, he said, his party would look again at the situation at the disaster-affected locations.
