TKN Denies Rumors Of Prabowo's Involvement In The Case Of Alleged Corruption In The Purchase Of Used Aircraft From Qatar
JAKARTA - The Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN), denied rumors of involvement of presidential candidate number 02, Prabowo Subianto in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of the purchase of a former Indonesia-Qatar aircraft. TKN confirmed that the news was a hoax.
"From the start we said that 1,000 percent of the news was a lie. Both the substance and the frills, they were all lies," said Deputy Chairperson of TKN Habiburokhman at a press conference at the Fairmont Hotel, Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday, February 10.
Habiburokhman said TKN Prabowo-Gibran would report the parties who slandered Prabowo, who was attacked by slander in his capacity as Minister of Defense and Presidential Candidate.
"At the same time remind the public to be crowded to be wise. Do not participate in spreading, do not participate in forwarding things that are not true," said the Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR.
Meanwhile, Chairman of TKN Prabowo-Gibran, Rosan Roeslani explained, after the team checked the news by contacting the Department of State Indonesia Desk, there was never a request from The Group of States Against Corruption (GRECO) or the European Union Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate this scandal.
"I asked if it was true from GRECO, which in the name of monitoring body integrity, asked the American government for assistance. Then they checked and said there had never been a request from a party whose name was GRECO regarding assistance or asked for cooperation from the United States government in the context of what was accused of buying the oil andrage," explained Rosan.
"So this also adds to the evidence that it is fake news, hoax news, untrue news which is indeed a very cheesey thing to corner Pak Prabowo," he added.
Meanwhile, Prabowo Subianto's spokesman, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, revealed that there was no purchase of an even plane. He said the purchase was planned, but it had been canceled.
"So there is no purchase of a Mirage aircraft, and it means that there is no effective contract in the Ministry of Defense related to the purchase of oil. So in terms of content everything submitted in the hoax news is clearly slander," he said.
Then technically, continued Dahnil, the team has traced the characteristics of hoaxes carried out. Where this news comes from the MSN website.
"MSN's content is Microsoft aggregator, and he takes it from the tetanext, while if it is taken later, it is checked on the metanaext, the news is not available at all. So from a technical point of view, it is clear slander," he explained.

According to Dahnil, this rumor was deliberately created by certain people to spread slander for candidate pair number 2, Prabowo-Gibran ahead of voting day.
"Then this was honed, unfortunately by netizens on the one hand. In some media, they also raised this issue, fried and so on without any attempt to convey that this is a hoax and slander," said Dahnil.
It is known, the news was first released by foreign media, Meta Nex in an article entitled "Indonesia Prabowo Subianto EU Corruption Investigation" on Friday, February 9, 2024.
The article wrote an agreement with Qatar for the purchase of 12 used Mirage fighter jets worth US$ 792 million or approximately IDR 12.4 trillion, or at a price of US$ 66 million per jet. The Group of States Against Corruption (GRECO) or the European Union Anti-Corruption Commission is said to be investigating the scandal.
