PSSI Leaks About Employees Who Will Fill Indonesia U-23, Persija Sends Most Representatives
JAKARTA - The U-23 Indonesian national team will soon begin preparing for the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup. The squad's composition is the main thing that the coach, Shin Tae-yong, focuses on.
Regarding the composition of the team, PSSI through the Executive Committee (Exco) member, Endri Erawan, gave a leak that later Persija and Borneo FC would be the clubs that sent their players the most to Indonesia U-23.
"The problem now is that there are indeed several players who have been taken by Shin Tae-yong from one club. For example, Persija and Borneo FC have five or four players," said Endri Erawan when met at Senayan, Central Jakarta, Monday, January 5, 2024, evening WIB.
Before appearing in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup which will be held from April 15 to May 3, 2024, the U-23 Indonesian national team will undergo a training camp (TC) which is expected to take up to a month.
After Shin Tae-yong determines the players who will be summoned to Indonesia U-23, the federation will try to communicate with the club. The reason is, this is related to the schedule for the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup which coincides with Liga 1 2023/2024.

Apart from calling local players, Shin Tae-yong also plans to call on abroad players. However, it will not be easy because this tournament is not included in the FIFA calendar and the club has the right not to release players.
"Well, maybe we will negotiate with PT Liga Indonesia Baru and the club. Maybe from the start we will discuss who will be released, who can't be released, who can strengthen Indonesia U-23," said Endri Erawan.
"It will be negotiated. We will consult again with Shin Tae-yong," he said.
