Lucid Air Is Now A Fleet For The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia's Luxury Electric Patrol
JAKARTA - Electric cars are increasingly finding their place on the market, some of which are used by police departments in several countries such as Toyota bZ4X as an electric patrol vehicle in London City, Audi RS e-tron GT which is the Abu Dhabi police fleet, MG4 EV is the French police fleet, to Kia EV6 GT-Line AWD, which joins the Queensland police fleet.
Recently, a video uploaded by the Ministry of Home Affairs of Saudi Arabia on platform X, featuring Lucid Air leading a group of police cars equipped with large science fiction-style sirens on the roof. This equipment stores a drone that can be used for spies in areas that cannot be reached by the electric sedan.

Based on the upload, reported by CarBuzz, February 4, this electric car will be exhibited at the country's World Defense Show until February 8. This car has a two-color black and white paint scheme, equipped with a "Police" and "911" sticker. Although the government agency did not specify which trim is on display, the wheel design indicates this possibility is Air Pure, an entry level variant of the model.
Judging by the specifications of the brand's official website, Lucid Air Pure is the only trim with a rear wheel drive (RWD) producing a power of 430 and a single motorcycle setup. This electric car can also be very fast at the highest speed of 200 km/hour and the acceleration of 0-96 km/hour can be achieved 4.5 seconds.
Meanwhile, when the battery is fully charged, Lucid Air Pure can reach up to 660 km and enough with 15 minutes of battery charging, the car can also be pushed forward up to 231 km. And the price of one unit, starting at 77,400 US dollars or equivalent to Rp1.2 billion.
It is not yet clear why Lucid Air was chosen, but it is known that the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund owns about 60% of the shares in Lucid. This electric car company even owns a factory in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, known as AMP-2. One of the deals between the two is the purchase of 100,000 Lucid models for ten years.
