Russia Urges UN Security Council To Hold US Attack Discussion On Iraq And Syria
JAKARTA - Russia on Saturday condemned the United States' attacks on Iraq and Syria, and requested that a UN Security Council hearing be held to discuss this matter.
The US is "again showing its aggressiveness and ignoring international law," said Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for Russia's Foreign Ministry.
According to him, the attack destroyed infrastructure and caused casualties from civilians.
"The British Royal Air Force's compliance with the US attacks should not create an illusion of an 'international coalition'," he said, adding that Britain's support for the provocative US action was too much.
Zakharova accused the US of deliberately exacerbating the situation in the Middle East, and said that the US, which is "law immune", continues to create destruction and chaos in the Middle East.
