De Gea Refuses To Return To The Premier League Despite Guarantee Of Minutes Of Play
JAKARTA - David de Gea is almost returning to the Premier League when Nottingham Forest wants to sign him during the January 2024 transfer market.
However, he refused. In fact, the Spanish goalkeeper was promised a minute to play or enter the first team on Forest.
According to The Athletic report, the approach to De Gea comes as Forest looks for a new goalkeeper. The club is dissatisfied with the performance of Matt Turner and the Vlachodimos Odyssey.
They finally negotiated with seven goalkeepers in the January 2024 exchange, one of which was De Gea. The 33-year-old goalkeeper is certainly a priority to be brought to City Ground.
Forest's negotiations with De Gea were intense. In fact, the club, which is now ranked 16th in the 2023/2024 Premier League, lured the goalkeeper with regular playing minutes until the end of this season.

However, De Gea rejected the short-term offer. Forest finally chose Matz Sels with an initial transfer of 5.1 million pounds when the January 2024 stock exchange almost closed.
In addition, Forest signed Gio Reyna on loan and added teenage player Rodrigo Ribeiro to their squad on loan with the option to buy.
Meanwhile, De Gea made 545 appearances for Manchester United during 11 seasons at Old Trafford.
During that period, he won the Premier League, FA Cup, Europa League, two League Cups, and three Community Shield.
De Gea is known to have failed to transfer on the 2015 stock exchange deadline when his engine thwarted his move to Real Madrid.
The goalkeeper has been without a club since being released by Manchester United last summer or early this season.
De Gea has been linked with a number of transfers since then. Last month's report said the Spanish goalkeeper was linked with a move to the Saudi Arabian Pro League.
