Pertamina Receives Ahok's Resignation Letter, Continue Process At The Ministry Of SOEs

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) confirmed the resignation of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok as the company's President Commissioner. Pertamina's VP Corporate Communication Fadjar Djoko Santoso said Ahok's resignation letter would be processed by the Ministry of SOEs.

"It is true that he submitted his resignation. The letter is submitted as of today to the Ministry of SOEs (State-Owned Enterprises)," said Pertamina's VP of Corporate Communication Fadjar Djoko Santoso when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Saturday, February 3.

Ahok, through his social media account on Friday, February 2, announced evidence of his resignation letter. In the upload, it shows a letter with the logo of PT Pertamina.

"This upload is proof of the receipt of my Resignation Letter as the President Commissioner of PT. Pertamina (Persero) which I submitted today, February 2, 2024," said Ahok in his photo caption.

Ahok said that this resignation was related to his support for the presidential-vice presidential candidate pair Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD. "This is so that there is no more confusion regarding my political direction," he said.

It is known that the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said that the commissioners and directors of SOEs involved in the campaign for political parties and the winning team for presidential candidates must resign from office.

Erick menyampaikan, Kementerian BUMN telah mengeluarkan surat kepada seluruh karyawannya untuk segera mengundurkan diri lantaran hal tersebut sudah tercatas dalam aturan di kementerian.
