Ministry Of Industry Aims For Medical Devices Industry Cooperation Worth 1 Million Euros At Dubai Exhibition

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) supports the collaboration between PT Graha Teknomedika (GTM) and the leading operating light manufacturing company from France, Surgiris.

This collaboration was formed at the 2024 Arab Health Exhibition in Dubai. GTM itself is a player in the manufacturing industry of electromedical medical devices who has had a production experience in Indonesia for 36 years.

The cooperation between the two parties was realized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between GTM Marketing Director Febie Yuriza Poetri and Surgiris President Director Daniel Micucci.

"The MoU signing was carried out on February 1, 2024 and became part of Indonesia's participation in the 2024 Arab Health which was attended by 19 manufacturing companies by displaying various superior products of medical devices under the auspices of Indonesia Pavillion," said Secretary of the Directorate General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics (ILMATE) of the Ministry of Industry Sopar Halomoan Sirait in a written statement received by VOI, Friday, February 2.

Sopar said the total transaction value to be targeted from the cooperation between PT GTM and Surgiris reached 1 million euros for the next three years.

He assessed that the medical device industry is one of the priority sectors in the national manufacturing industry growth program.

"Through this collaboration between PT GTM and Surgiris, it is hoped that it can strengthen the competitiveness of the national medical device industry," he said.

According to Sopar, similar bilateral cooperation and participation of Indonesian medical device products in the international arena are believed to be able to accelerate the development of the domestic medical device industry.

This is also to realize national resilience to Indonesian-produced medical devices.

Meanwhile, GTM Operations Director Prima Yuriandro said the agreement between the two companies would realize a partnership in producing advanced technology operating lights at GTM manufacturing facilities in Indonesia.

Prima assessed that this collaboration is to answer market needs, which currently do not have high-tech operating lights.

"This collaboration allows PT GTM to obtain information and knowledge about lighting manufacturing for operational purposes, which of course has complex technology. In addition, this collaboration can continue to be encouraged for the development of domestic medical device products," he said.
