Supplier Of Senpi And Ammunition To KKB Arrested In Nabire, Profession Is A Driver
JAKARTA - The TNI-Police team has secured R (42 years) who works as a driver because he is suspected of being a supplier of airsoft gun (senpi) and ammunition for the armed criminal group (KKB) in Nabire.
"The TNI-Police team has indeed arrested R in Nabire who is suspected of being the supplier of weapons and ammunition for the KKB", said Biak Commander of Korem (Danrem) 173 / PVB Brig. Gen. Iwan Setiawan, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 24.
He explained that the arrest was made after the team conducted an in-depth investigation so that the person concerned was arrested along with evidence in the form of two airsoft guns and 28 ammunition of various caliber and one box of ammunition for an airsoft gun.
R, who was arrested on Tuesday, had already been secured at the Nabire Police Headquarters for further examination to find out the origin of the weapons and ammunition, said Setiawan, hoping to reveal the case further.
Previously the Papua Police Chief, Inspector General Paulus Waterpauw, stated that Nabire was currently suspected of being the center for the distribution of senpi and ammunition for the KKB.
Because of that, his party always synergizes with the TNI to uncover the case to cut the supply chain of weapons and ammunition to the KKB, said Waterpauw, adding that earlier in January, MS had been secured with four weapons purchased from Sanger Talaud, North Sulawesi.
The senpi that was secured from MS is thought to have come from the Philippines to be sold to KKB, said Inspector General of Police Waterpauw.
