Visit To NTT Makes A Crowd Of Citizens, PKS Asks Jokowi To Become A Model Of Prokes
JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPP Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Mardani Ali Sera highlighted the emergence of a crowd of residents when President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) paid a work visit in Maumere, East Nusa Tenggara.
Mardani questioned the Palace's anticipation to prevent residents from gathering to welcome the president. This is because, said Mardani, Jokowi's activity which invited a crowd of residents was not the first time this had happened. In fact, it was not a spontaneous action because there was an activity to distribute gifts to the local community.
“This is not the first time Mr. Jokowi has distributed souvenirs or boxed rice, which has caused a crowd. Previously, he distributed boxed rice, yesterday he distributed souvenirs. If it has been prepared in the car, the name is not spontaneity, ”said Mardani when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, February 24.
Mardani said that some time ago Jokowi was disappointed with the PPKM and PSBB which were deemed ineffective. It turned out that this, said Mardani, was due to the lack of firmness from the government so that people did not comply with health protocols.
"So because the regions are less strict, the people do not comply with health protocols. But several times the President has caused crowds, residents have imitated the leader? ”Quipped the member of Commission II of the DPR.
Therefore, Mardani asked President Jokowi for a firm commitment. This includes providing examples of the implementation of good health protocols.
"Society needs the example and commitment of its leaders. This is our common problem, each leader must be an example of implementing health protocols, "he said.
As previously reported, the video of the crowd welcoming Jokowi's arrival in Maumere to inaugurate the Napun Gete Dam circulated on social media.
In the 30-second video, residents gathered to welcome the President. Residents cheered, clapped, waved, and captured the moment using their cellphones. Even though they were wearing masks, it seemed that residents did not maintain their distance.
