North Sumatra Police Arrest Deli Serdang Residents Owner Of 14,431 Ecstasy Pills

The Sub-Directorate III Team of the North Sumatra Regional Police's Narcotics Directorate arrested a man with the initials FRLG (35), a resident of Deli Serdang Regency, on suspicion of possession of 14,431 ecstasy pills.

"The evidence confiscated was 14,431 ecstasy pills weighing 27 kilograms and one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi in Medan, North Sumatra, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 31.

Hadi said the arrest of FRLG was made this Wednesday on Jalan Flamboyan Raya, Tanjung Sari Village, Medan Selayang District, Medan.

"This arrest is based on public reports about someone suspected of possessing drugs in the area," he said.

After receiving the report, the North Sumatra Police's Sub-Directorate III Team of the Narcotics Directorate moved towards the location in question and then arrested FRLG who was riding a motorcycle.

"During the search, officers obtained one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine from the perpetrators, then development was carried out," explained Hadi.

From the development, personnel from Sub-Directorate III of the North Sumatra Police's Narcotics Directorate searched FRLG's house on Jalan Pelabin Raya, Medan City.

"An additional 14,431 ecstasy pills weighing 27 kilograms were found in the room. After that, the perpetrator was taken to the Regional Police Headquarters for examination," he added.

Hadi said FRLG which has been designated as a suspect was charged with Article 114 Paragraph (2) subsidiary Article 112 Paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning narcotics.

Some time earlier, the North Sumatra Police arrested seven suspected couriers of methamphetamine-type narcotics weighing 7.3 kilograms at Kualanamu International Airport, Deli Serdang Regency.
