Previously, the Clubhouse application was released in March 2020. The emergence of this social media-based audio platform is a hot topic of conversation in Silicon Valley. Especially after several influential people such as Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg filled the event held at the Clubhouse.
Until now, the Clubhouse application can only be used by iPhone users. Even though it is based on social media, this application seems exclusive because not all users can get an invitation to join Clubhouse.
In the application, users can gather in a special group or room to discuss various topics such as technology, pop culture, and so on. Users can also listen to discussions from professionals in their respective fields.
This app was founded by Paul Davison and Rohan Seth. Both informed that the Clubhouse application already has 10 million active users. In fact, on January 24, this application only had 2 million users. This is a sharp improvement experienced by these audio-based applications.
The development of the Clubhouse application for Android came after receiving a new injection of funds from Andreessen Horowitz, a venture capital firm. The capital company poured out funds in January.
Launching Axios, the Clubhouse application received a fund of 100 million US dollars (around IDR 1.4 trillion) and gave a valuation of 1 billion US dollars. This made Clubhouse a unicorn company, even though it was only over a year old.
