475 Regions Already Use QRIS Services For Tax Payments
JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) continues to encourage the use of the Indonesian QR (QRIS) standard, one of which is for paying taxes and levies in the regions.
Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo said that non-cash payment services or QRIS had been used by 475 local governments out of a total of 542 local governments at the district or city level.
"So, approximately 475 local governments out of 542 local governments, or 88 percent more or less, have used QRIS," explained Perry at the KSSK press conference in the First Quarter of 2024 on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
Perry mengungkapkan layanan QRIS sudah bisa digunakan untuk melakukan pembayaran pajak, parkir, pembayaran pajak bumi dan bangunan (PBB) hingga berbagai layanan retribusi.
All taxes from this area, all people or taxpayers can pay using QRIS, after that online transfers, all kinds of things are already using that. Likewise for levies, it has also used QRIS," he added.
In addition to paying regional revenues, QRIS can also be used by local governments for shopping. because it has been connected to Indonesia's credit card service in the government segment.

Perry said that local governments that have used Indonesian credit cards using QRIS are cheaper and immediately cut funds from accounts, so that they will be right on target, right on funds, and improve governance.
For information, Bank Indonesia recorded that QRIS transactions grew 130.01 percent year on year (yoy) or reached IDR 229.96 trillion in 2023 with the number of users reaching 45.78 million. Meanwhile, the number of merchants is 30.41 million, most of which are MSMEs.
