Fiorentina Vs Inter Milan: Martinez Coup Juventus And Return To The Top
JAKARTA - Inter Milan had to work hard before beating Fiorentina 1-0 in the Italian Serie A match at the Artemio Franci Stadium, Florence, Monday, January 29, 2024 in the morning WIB. Through Lautaro Martinez's goal, Inter returned to the top of the standings and replaced Juventus.
The increasingly heated feud. Inter and Juventus sliding each other over the throne of the standings. Even former Inter goalkeeper Gianluca Pagliuca said the competition would continue until the end of the competition season.
"The opportunity is good until the end. Inter have better squad quality. The depth of the squad is better. It's just that Inter are still competing in the Champions League," said Pagliuca.
The prediction of the former Italian national team goalkeeper doesn't seem to miss. Inter, who beat Fiorentina, won three points. Now, the Nerazzurri have 54 points.
They immediately took the top position which was previously controlled by Juve. However, Inter are only one point ahead with the Bianconeri

The problem is, the two teams will meet at the Italian Derby d' at home to Inter, February 5, 2024. This match will determine how their competition will be next.
If Inter win, they are increasingly confident in winning the Scudetto. Vice versa if it was Juve who won the derby.
After Inter returned to the top with a win at home to opponents, Fiorentina failed to return to the top four.
Previously, Atalanta's position was taken by Fiorentina, who beat Udinese 2-0. However, La Viola's attempt to seize it again failed. The defeat to Inter made Fiorentina's position drop to fifth with a point of 34. The same as Lazio, but Fiorentina still had a goal difference.
In that match, Inter, who just won Supercoppa Italiana, could not field the best squad. Coach Simone Inzaghi lost Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella who were banned from playing.
Inter were surprised by Fiorentina's offensive game. Even the hosts took the lead when M'Bala Nzola broke into Yann Sommer's goal in the 11th minute. However, after being reviewed through VAR, Nzola's goal was disallowed because he was in an offside position.
The match is back on. It was Inter's turn to score through Martinez. The striker's goal for the Argentine national team was created after his header which hit Kristjan Asllani's corner vibrations Fiorentina's net in the 14th minute.
Referee Gianluca Aureliano again reviewed the goal incident through VAR. However, there were no violations and the goal was clean so the referee ratified it. The score 1-0 for Inter and did not change until the end of the first half
In the second half, Inter did not change the pattern of the game. They still play attacking despite difficulties in adding goals.
Likewise Fiorentina tried to catch up. Only the host's efforts never paid off because of the brilliant performance of goalkeeper Sommer.
Fiorentina finally had the chance to break the deadlock after being awarded a penalty in the 76th minute. The penalty was given after Sommer fouled Nzola.
Because Sommer was about to punch the ball until he threw it away. However, the former Bayern Munich goalkeeper actually hit Nzola in the face so he had time to receive treatment.
The referee again reviewed the incident via replays on VAR. As a result, Sommer committed a violation and the referee pointed to the spot.
However, forward Nico Gonzalez failed to complete the penalty execution. His shot was too weak so Sommer could save him.
There is no change in the score. Until the end of the match, Inter were able to maintain a 1-0 advantage.
