Police: 10 Suspected Terrorists In Central Java JI Network

JAKARTA - Densus 88 Anti-terror arrested 10 suspected terrorists in the Central Java region. They are members of the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network.

"These 10 JI groups are members of the Qodimah in the eastern region of the JI structure," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko in his statement, Friday, January 26.

The suspected terrorists had the initials S alias M, M alias R, T alias A, P alias K, N alias A, T alias J, E alias W, N, SU and MU.

Based on the results of the deepening, they have a role as operational supporters of the JI group. Starting from facilitating activities, hiding DPOs and seeking funds.

In addition, they also prepare logistics in the form of firearms and sharp weapons to aspects of skill development.

However, the role of each suspect is still being investigated. The Densus 88 Anti-terror investigation team is still conducting investigations.

"Currently, investigators are still investigating the suspect, conducting laboratory examinations of evidence, asking for expert information on the evidence confiscated and detaining the suspect," said Trunoyudo.

As previously reported, Densus 88 Anti-terror arrested 10 suspected terrorists in Central Java, Thursday, January 25. The arrests were in four different locations.

The Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Stefanus Satake Bayu, said that one suspected terrorist was arrested in Karang Anyar Regency, three in Boyolali Regency, five in Sukoharjo Regency, and one in Surakarta City.

"The arrest of suspected terrorism by the Densus 88 Anti-terror Police team in Rayon Surakarta's jurisdiction is 10 suspected terrorists," said Stefanus.
