PKS And Gerindra's Betting In The Jakarta Cawagub Election
JAKARTA - Politicians Ahmad Riza Patria and Nurmansjah Lubis have submitted administrative documents as a condition for running as candidates for Deputy Governor of DKI. This document was submitted to the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan. Later, Anies will bring the document to the DKI DPRD so that the two candidates can be determined definitively.
The submission of the requirements that are equipped with a cawagub from Gerindra and PKS is contained in Article 44 of Regional Regulation (Perda) Number 1 of 2020 concerning Procedures for the DKI DPRD.
A number of requirements submitted include a photocopy of a diploma, LHKPN, medical certificate, never been sentenced to at least 5 years, not paying attention to the state, as well as a resignation letter from the DPR / DPD / DPRD, TNI, Polri, PNS, BUMD and BUMN directors.
By submitting the required documents, Ahmad Riza Patria has volunteered to no longer hold a position in parliament as Deputy Chair of Commission X of the Indonesian Parliament for the 2019-2024 period from the Gerindra Faction.
"The resignation letter has been included. It has been approved by the DPR leadership as well," said Riza after submitting the requirements at the DKI City Hall, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta, Monday, March 10.
On the same day, Nurmansjah Lubis also submitted the same requirements as Riza as the number 2 candidate in DKI. Nurmansjah admitted that he took the time to convince Anies that he was determined to become Deputy Governor of DKI. Although, he is aware that Anies does not have any right to determine the election process.
"Yes, basically we are trying to the maximum, win-win solutions, and fair play," said Nurmansjah.
PKS Put Hope, Gerindra Feeling the Upper Wind
The deputy chairman of the DPRD from the PKS faction, Abdurrahman Suhaimi, did not want to claim the number of votes that would be obtained based on the results of political lobbying during a safari to several factions yesterday.
He only hopes that the 106 members of the DKI DPRD who have voting rights can tie the choice to Nurmansjah, who is actually a former member of the DPRD DKI for the 2009-2014 period.
"This is all hope. We hope all support the ancah," said Suhaimi.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairperson of the DPRD from the Gerindra Faction, Mohamad Taufik, is more eloquent than PKS. Taufik felt that he had the upper hand because he claimed to have received 80 percent of the pledges of support from all DPRD members.
"I think it's impossible not to vote. 80 percent of people (DPRD members) support Riza, how do you not choose," said Taufik. "Golkar and PKB have stated openly, God willing, the others too."
Gerindra's claim is shared by political observers from Al-Azhar University Ujang Komarudin. Ujang saw that the possibility of Riza being chosen was greater than Nurmansjah.
"Nurmansjah, the new name proposed by PKS when Agung and Syaikhu were not welcomed by the DPRD, why didn't PKS carry Nurmansyah from the start?" Said Ujang.
Furthermore, the close proximity of Gerindra to President Joko Widodo's administration also added to his strength and paved the way for Riza Patria to occupy the number two seat in DKI.
Given, PDIP as the party that carries Jokowi in the 2019 Presidential Election has also become the winning party in the election in the DPRD with 25 seats.
"Even though Nurmasnyah has been in the DPRD twice, Riza is still considered to understand DKI's problems because she has served as the Chairman of the KNPI DKI," he said.
