PKS Sentil Jokowi Problem Jakarta Floods: 7 Years As President, How Has It Been Overcome?

JAKARTA - Joko Widodo (Jokowi) once promised to overcome the floods and traffic jams that hit Jakarta when he became President of Indonesia. The statement made when he was Governor of DKI Jakarta, March 24 2014, has now been raised by the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).

The Jakarta floods that occurred on Saturday, February 20 have become a serious concern. The name of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, continues to be raised as the person who is responsible for this.

"The philosophy of holding back flood waters? Maybe Jakarta residents remember Jokowi, who, when he was governor of DKI, once stated that flooding in Jakarta would be easier to overcome if Jokowi became President of the Republic of Indonesia," tweeted Deputy Chairman of the PKS Shura Council Hidayat Nur Wahid (HNW) via his Twitter account. , @hnurwahid quoted VOI, Tuesday, February 23.

"Now it is Jokowi's 7th year as president, how has the flood in Jakarta been resolved," asked HNW

Apart from bringing up Jokowi's statement, PKS did not accept that the Jakarta floods were a big mistake of Governor Anies Baswedan. Moreover, the method of handling Anies' floods was compared to Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok.

This followed a request from the Special Staff of the Steering Committee for the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) Antonius Benny Susetyo. Benny asked Anies Baswedan not to blame nature when the flood submerged Jakarta.

On the other hand, Anies must prepare himself to overcome the bad possibilities that occur in the capital city. Anies administration's mistake was not to continue with the previous policy.

"For example, during the Ahok era. Dredging occurred, cleaning the drainage, bleaching the gutters, there were lots of orange troops, yellow troops on standby so that when the rainfall exceeded the capacity, the water could flow," he explained.

According to HNW, Ahok was once summoned by Jokowi because the floods in Jakarta had touched the State Palace. Meanwhile, during Anies' time, nothing similar happened.

"Floods in Jakarta are easier to overcome if (Jokowi) becomes president. How about this one, Father Benny," said HNW.

In the past, when he was governor of DKI, Jokowi said that floods and traffic jams were easier to deal with when he became president. This is because the president has the convenience of regulating and ordering regional heads in the Jabodetabek area to cooperate.

The provincial government, said Jokowi, could not handle flooding and traffic jams if it was not helped by other regions.
