Megawati's Step To Reject The Extension Of The Presidential Position For 3 Periods Admittedly PDIP Has An Impact In The 2024 General Election
Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said the attitude of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri to protect the constitution by rejecting the 3-term presidential term turned out to have an impact on the 2024 election. Although not a few also appreciated this attitude.
This was conveyed by Hasto during the momentum of Megawati's 77th birthday on Tuesday, January 23. He said that his appreciation for Megawati's move to refuse the extension of the presidential term to three terms was shown by many sending congratulatory videos.
Many appreciate Mrs. Megawati for her determination in principles to maintain democracy. Even though Mrs. Mega and the PDI-P's attitude in rejecting the extension of their position and three terms of office have consequences in the 2024 election, it is Mrs. Mega's strength towards the constitution that makes her appear as a guardian of democracy," said Hasto as quoted from his written statement, Tuesday, January 23.
To fill the birthday of the general chairman of his party, Hasto said there were various activities carried out by the cadres. Among them are distributing cones to the people and reforestation.
Then there was also a celebration that was held to celebrate Megawati's birthday. However, only the closest people will be invited.
"As in previous years, Megawati's birthday was held simply, and was attended by her family and close friends," he said.
Hasto further said that the Party's Cultural Agency YouTube account would broadcast Megawati's happy birthday from a number of figures.
It is hoped that the cadres and all party sympathizers will continue to participate in Megawati's struggle.
He asked no one to be afraid of the current conditions, especially in the 2024 General Election.
