Baidu And Huawei Partner To Bring Vehicle Navigation To Next Level
JAKARTA - Two technology giants from China, Baidu and Huawei, announced a strategic partnership to create smarter vehicle navigation.
This collaboration will combine Baidu's strength in data and algorithms with Huawei's expertise in smart cockpit technology.
Reported by ArenaEV, Monday, January 22, this partnership will involve the integration of broad features from Baidu Maps into Huawei's smart cockpit technology. This will include features such as full voice interactions where drivers can give voice commands for navigation, such as changing directions or looking for parking lots.
In addition, Baidu Maps will provide accurate map navigation and directional directions, including the latest traffic information. Drivers can also view navigational information in front of their eyes, without the need to take their eyes off the road.
Not only that, Baidu Maps also presents several interesting features, such as traffic light countdown. This is not much different from what Audi has been offering his car for years, a smart software connected to traffic lights.
Interestingly, the Baidu System already includes 3,000 regions across China, and adds real-time parking navigation that includes millions of parking lots in China.
Later, this service will be implemented on vehicles equipped with Huawei's smart cockpit, and Baidu's experience with driverless taxis through the Apollo project in Beijing will be useful in this collaboration.

Baidu is arguably at the forefront today by working with Huawei to keep up with the changing trends, this partnership is believed to be able to change the future of the smart transportation ecosystem.
