Indonesia Vs Vietnam National Team Match Considered Determination, Jordi Amat: This Is War
JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team will face Vietnam on the second matchday of Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium on Friday, January 19, 2024. Jordi Amat called this match a war.
Jordi Amat made this statement considering that the match against Vietnam was a match that would determine the steps of the Indonesian national team to the round of 16.
This meeting is important because Vietnam also needs three points because they also haven't got points in the group's first match, just like the Indonesian national team.
"This will be a tough and important match for us and the Indonesian national team. This will be a war for both camps," said Jordi Amat about the meeting with Vietnam in a statement before the match, quoted on Friday, January 19, 2024.
"We want to win, but we hope to show a good performance and enjoy the game," he said.

Jordi Amat also mentioned the defeat achieved by the Garuda Squad in the inaugural match against Iraq on January 15, 2024, which made the team lose points. He said the result was disappointing, but he was sure that this time the Indonesian national team would rise.
"We lost against Iraq. We were very angry and disappointed with the result. We were a young team against Iraq and conceded three goals," said Jordi.
"Then I think Iraq's second goal is offside. This team is always growing every day and we can see it in all matches. We have a big job against Vietnam," he said.
Before the match, Jordi Amat already knew how strong the opponent was. He said, currently Vietnam continues to develop compared to during the duel in the 2022 AFF Cup semifinals.
The development in question was seen when Vietnam was able to score two goals against Japan in the inaugural match of Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup. "They (Vietnam) played well in the first half against Japan. They have a good block. Therefore, we need the best ability to beat them," said Jordi.
