VIDEO: A Number Of Jokowi's Ministers Are Rumored To Be Resigning From Their Positions

JAKARTA - Ahead of the 2024 presidential election, political issues are getting tighter. In addition to the issue of impeachment by President Joko Widodo, now there are more issues that say that several ministers in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet will resign from their positions.

Senior economist from the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (INDEF), Faisal Basri, called for a number of ministers in Joko Widodo's cabinet to step down on Thursday, January 18.

Faisal emphasized that the ministers who will resign are Ministers who are classified as technocrats and do not come from parties, such as Finance Minister Sri Mulyani and Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono. He also explained that the news about the setbacks of the technocrat ministers was logical, because they had strong ethical and moral values.

The senior economist also said that too many interventions were included in the Minister's duties and functions for certain political interests, especially those related to the use of the state budget. Without hesitation, he also stated that the Ministers must step down to save the interests of the state.

Meanwhile, the Special Staff of the Minister of Finance, Yustinus Prastowo, denied that Sri Mulyani had made a statement about her resignation. Information on the resignation of the Minister of Finance has also been declared a hoax by the Ministry of Communication and Information through the official website of Kominfo. Watch the video below.
