Bagas/Fikri Determined To Rise At Indonesia Masters 2024
JAKARTA - Bagas Maulana/Muhammad men's doubles pair Shohibul Fikri are determined to rise at the 2024 Indonesia Masters after lifting a suitcase from the 2024 India Open.
Bagas/Fikri's journey in India immediately ran aground in the first half after losing the rubber game against fifth seed from Denmark, Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen, on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, WIB night.
"Next week at the Indonesia Masters 2024, hopefully we can show more than this in front of the support of thousands of fans at Istora," said Bagas.
India Open 2023 became the second consecutive tournament in which Bagas/Fikri ran aground in the first half. Previously, at the 2024 Malaysia Open last week, they did not go through the first round after losing two games against representatives of India, Chirag Shetty/Satwiksairaj Rankireddy.

Against Kim/Anders, Bagas/Fikri had time to rise in the second game after losing in the first game. However, unfortunately in the game their determination fell again.
"We are disappointed and not satisfied with the results in these two tournaments. Regardless of the opponent, it is not easy, but we should be able to do better. Even so, we are grateful that today's performance is not bad. We still have a lot of improvements to do," said Fikri.
Bagas/Fikri are one of four Indonesian representatives who fell in the first round of the 2024 India Open.
The other three representatives who were stopped in the first half were Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin's men's doubles and mixed doubles duo Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari and Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja.
Indonesia Masters 2024 will take place from 23-28 January 2024 at Istora Senayan, Jakarta. Last year, Bagas/Fikri's steps at the BWF Super 500 level event reached the quarter-finals.
