Puan Ensures DPR Remains Responsible For Carrying Out Constitutional Tasks Despite Elections
JAKARTA - The chairman of the DPR, Puan Maharani, ensured that the DPR RI remains responsible for carrying out constitutional tasks even though the 2024 election process is currently underway, especially during the campaign period. "We are of course committed to carrying out our constitutional tasks as well as possible and what we can do will certainly remain the responsibility and obligation of all members of the DPR to be able to carry it out," said Puan after a plenary meeting at the DPR Building, Tuesday, January 16. Due to a short time and already ahead of the 2024 election voting day, Puan emphasized that the DPR will prioritize things that must be resolved immediately. It is known that the DPR III session period only runs until February 16 next. "Where is the priority to be carried out, which is what we will continue after the February election," said the PDIP legislator for the Central Java electoral district. Puan said, the DPR will continue the discussion of 19 bills that are still under discussion at level I and 33 bills that will enter level I talks.

"Earlier, I told you that there are several bills that have indeed entered level I. Even then, it is impossible to enter the second level discussion in just a short time, one month or more," explained Puan. "So we will continue to discuss it, we will continue to ask for input from all elements, organizations and so on so that later it can be continued after the February election," he concluded.
