VIDEO: Jakarta Residents Will Sue Heri Budi To Administrative Court Regarding Bicycle Paths

JAKARTA - Jakarta residents plan to sue the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, Heru Budi Hartono in a citizen lawsuit or class action to the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN) regarding the fate of the current bicycle lane.

The class action operator to be launched is the Bike to Work (B2W) cyclist community. The general chairman, Fahmi Saimima, said that the DKI Provincial Government in the Heru era was considered to have implemented policy malpractice related to bicycle lanes in the capital city. Currently, B2W has appointed a legal representative to assist the lawsuit process and is preparing administrative efforts.

The lawsuit this time is asking Heru to ensure the safety of bicycle users and follow the rules regarding the detailed spatial planning and regional spatial planning that have been prepared. Meanwhile, the policy of the DKI Provincial Government which is considered malpractice in the management of bicycle lanes by B2W is:

November 2022, the budget cuts for the original bicycle lane in the 2023 RAPBD amounting to Rp38 billion was then proposed to be zeroed. April 2023: Heru set traffic engineering in the red light T-junction area of Santa, South Jakarta, by dismantling pedestrians and bicycle lanes.

In May 2023, 18 roads in the capital were ordered to be repaved on the pretext of welcoming the Asean Summit but closing the bicycle lane and not returning it. October 2023: DKI Transportation Agency dismantled the stick cone that divides bicycle lanes on 13 bicycle lanes on the grounds of endangering other motorists.

October 2023, in the draft discussion of the Regional Budget Raperda for Fiscal Year 2024, the construction of bicycle lanes amounting to Rp4,513,936,931 is included in the budget for reduction/transversion and is not budgeted again. Watch the video below.
