Close Office In San Diego, Apple Plans To Relocate To Austin
JAKARTA Apple closed one of its offices in San Diego. The office is a place to work for the Data Operations Annotation team that focuses on the Artificial Intelligence (AI) project.
One of the programs they are handling is Siri, software in the form of personal assistants on all Apple devices. They are trying to improve the accuracy of Siri's system and performance through the evaluation of the user's response.
In fact, Apple deliberately closed the office in San Diego because of its double team. Reporting fromloomberg, Apple doesn't want to have the same team in two different places so they will move the entire operation in San Diego to an office in Austin.
For this office transfer, around 121 employees were affected. As a form of responsibility, Apple will provide new jobs to all affected employees, but they must be willing to change offices.

If employees in San Diego refuse to work in Austin, they will be laid off. Even though Apple is trying to provide a good solution, this offer still burdens a number of employees because not everyone agrees with the relocation.
Therefore, as additional support, employees who agree with the relocation will get a salary of 7,000 US dollars or around Rp. 108.5 million. Meanwhile, employees who disagree with the relocation will receive severance pay.
It is not known the amount of severance pay to be given, but Apple will provide severance pay for four consecutive weeks. In addition, employees who are dismissed will receive a six-month health insurance deposit.
