Police Investigate Karaoke Fire That Killed 6 People In Tegal
SEMARANG - Police investigated the fire incident at a karaoke place located on Jalan Veteran, Tegal City, Central Java, which killed 6 people.
Tegal City Police Chief AKBP Rully Thomas said the six victims who died in the incident were thought to have been caused by weakly inhaling carbon dioxide.
Meanwhile, the other three victims, he said, are still being treated at the Kardinah Hospital in Tegal City.
He explained that the fire incident was reported to have occurred at 08.00 WIB.
Police, firefighters, together with the community tried to save a number of residents of karaoke venues along with the fire fighting.
"Two fire engines, a crane belonging to the Transportation Agency, and a water cannon car belonging to the Resort Police were deployed to the scene," he said.
According to him, the handling of fires can be carried out immediately so that the fire does not spread to the surrounding buildings.
Rully has not been able to convey the cause of the fire that killed a number of residents of the karaoke place.
"Investigators from the Satreskrim are still under investigation. We are also coordinating with the Central Java Police Forensic Laboratory," he said.
